Senior Session Prep Guide
This isn’t the kind of session where you’re standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
We’ll keep things moving, keep it relaxed, and make it feel more like just hanging out than anything formal.
The goal is for it to feel like you, not something overly posed or forced.
Choosing a Location
We’ll choose a spot that fits your style and the overall feel you’re going for.
Open fields, beaches, and parks are always solid options
Downtown areas or more urban spots can be fun too
We can also build the session around something you’re into, whether that’s music, sports, or a hobby you spend a lot of time on
If there’s something that feels like a big part of your life right now, I always encourage bringing that into your session in some way. It makes the photos feel much more personal and less generic.
What to Wear
You’ll have time for 1–3 outfits, so this is a good chance to mix it up a bit.
Think of outfits that feel like you on a normal day, just a little more put together. One can be more casual, one a little more elevated, and one somewhere in between if you want variety.
Stick with solid colors or subtle patterns
Avoid large logos or anything super distracting
Choose pieces you feel confident and comfortable in
Bring options if you’re unsure, we can decide together
This is also a great time to bring things like a letterman jacket, sports gear, instruments, or anything you’ve spent a lot of time on. It adds a lot of personality without feeling forced.
If you’re stuck, I’m always happy to help you put things together.
Timing + Light
Sessions are planned around the best light, usually near sunset
Try to arrive a few minutes early so we can start relaxed
If you’re running late, just send me a quick text.
After Your Session
Your gallery will be ready in about 4 weeks.
You’ll be able to download your high-res images and order prints directly from your gallery.
You will also get to choose one image to resize for the yearbook, if needed.
I’ll guide you the whole time so you don’t have to worry about what to do. It’s a mix of movement and light direction, nothing overly posed.
If you’re unsure about outfits, locations, or anything leading up to your session, feel free to reach out.
If you feel good going into it, everything else tends to fall into place.
